Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations Interview
Developer CyberConnect2?s president Hiroshi Matsuyama recently sat down with the folks over at CaptaiNaruto and gave an interview in regards to Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations! The interview can be seen in the video below, but it is in French, so we’ll give you the main points.
- The team at CC2 realized that the online experience in Storm 2 was unbalanced, with many of the top players always selecting Sage Naruto, Pain, Minato, and Deidara. For Storm Generations, the CC2 teams hopes to have all the characters, new and old, be balanced. In otherwords, a fair fight can take place between Naruto Part 1 and Naruto Shippuden characters.
- Matsuyama states that other then Zabuza and Haku, there will be characters from Naruto Part 1 that didn’t make it into Storm 1.
- Matsuyama also stated that Generations will have characters from Naruto Shippuden that didn’t make it into Storm 2. It’s unlikely manga-only characters will make an appearance.
A separate interview done by Mangas-Fr with Namco Bandaï Games France product manager Anthony Gambit also reveals a few interesting things. However, because the interview is posted in a forum without video confirmation, please take the following with a grain of salt until, well, if and when official news of it is released.
- Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations will cover all of the canon story arcs from Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. This includes the Zabuza/Haku arc from Naruto to the recent clash between Naruto and Sasuke after the recent Kage Summit.
CC2 will not go any further because they would like to wait the end of the manga to make a worthy sequel for Storm 2. - Story mode will be huge, but different from Storm 1 and Storm 2. The story will progress from different characters points of views. For example, the Zabuza/Haku arc will be played from their point of view.
- The gameplay for Generations will be similar to Storm 2. Jutsu clashes are not planned at this stage of the development and neither is training mode
- Storm 1 characters will have short ultimate jutsus to keep fights fluids in online mode like in Storm 2 rather then the long, cinematic ones in Storm 1
- Like Storm 1, there will be some characters that are playable and others that are support only. This is because for some of the characters, like Iruka, many jutsu have not been shown. CC2 does not want to invent styles and attacks for characters as they may be shown in the manga. They want to wait until the end of the Naruto manga to make a true sequel to Storm 2.
- Just like in Storm 2, variations of same character will be playable. For example, Naruto and Sage Naruto.
- Generations will have multiple online modes and possible downloadable content. For Storm 2, downloadable content was not included because the team at CC2 were busy with other projects

Und hier ein Wahrscheinlicher Release Zeitraum :
Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations Release Date?
Whether it’s for Europe or North America, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations has been officially confirmed by Namco Bandai Games for release in 2012. We wonder, though, what is the exact date that us fans can experience the electrifying storm? Well, the folks over at IGN have recently revealed that Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations will be released in the Spring of 2012 in North America. We aren’t exactly sure how correct they are with the North American release date as they have listed 2011 as the Japanese release date when we thought 2012 was also the release date for Japan. Of course, we don’t recall a Japanese release date ever being announced, so they could be right.
Anyways, if Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations were to release in the Spring of 2012, it’s likely March or May would be the two months which it would release in. That is, if history is any indication. Ultimate Ninja 3 for PS2 was promoted to come out in the Spring, and it was officially released on March 25, 2008. Ultimate Ninja 4 on PS2 came out in March 24, 2009, Ultimate Ninja Heroes for PSP came out May 11, 2010, and Kizuna Drive for PSP was released March 22, 2011. Same thing with TOMY’s Naruto games. Clash of Ninja, Ninja Council, and Path of the Ninja games all slated for Spring releases in North America came out in March or May. Never April.
So again, if Spring 2012 is for real and history is any indication, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations will have a North American release of March or May. Of course it can release in April since that is a Spring month, but our bets are on the “M” months. We will definitely let you guys know right here on Saiyan Island once we hear of the official release date for North America as well as Europe and Japan

Pre-Timeskip Naruto Special in Storm Generations
The world famous San Diego Comic Con is happening right now in San Diego, CA! YouTube user EotWPodcast is enjoying everything the convention has to offer and has decided to share with us Naruto fans a video that shows us pre-timeskip (or young) Naruto’s special! It’s really similar to the one in Ultimate Ninja Storm 1, which could be good or bad depending on how you look at it.
Thus far, the San Diego Comic Con has been a little uneventful from the Storm Generations perspective. Hopefully CC2 producer and president, Hiroshi Matsuyama, can present some new info to us in his presentation later today. Fingers crossed!

All Naruto Characters Will be Accessible in Naruto Storm Generations
The folks over at GameSpot recently had the chance to interview developer CyberConnect2′s president Hiroshi Matsuyama at the San Diego Comic Con. They discuss both Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Impact and Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations. One of the interesting things Matsuyama-san reveals about Generations, which begins at the 2:30 mark, is that they have included “all characters from the childhood Naruto series all the way to the Shippuden saga. So, this game will involve the most characters and it will allow all players to be able to access every single character that they’ve actually seen in the whole series.”

Storm Generations Namco Bandai Interview, Gameplay FootageThe good folks over at GameSpot had the chance to talk to Namco Bandai Games Global Brand Manager, Brandon Zien about Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations! They discuss some of the gameplay mechanics and show off some footage from the demo The key things to note from the interview are a little after the 1:00 minute mark. In the interview, Mr. Zien does mention the game is 8-9 months from launch, which we guess would give us a March release. Also, Mr. Zien mentions Generations will retain some features from Storm 2, but at the same time a lot of the new things in Generations have not yet been revealed. So for those looking for game play improvements, keep a look out! We’ve only seen the demo.
GameSpot has also released two videos from the demo, which are also seen in the interview. There is nothing new, but they are higher quality then previous videos we’ve seen.
