Wie wir alle wissen, arbeitet Insomniac Games (Resistance, Ratchte & Clank) an einem noch nicht angekündigten Multiplattform-Projekt für Electronic Arts. David DeMartini von EA Partners ist sich dabei sicher, dass auch dieses Spiel ein absoluter Hit wird und erwartet, dass man Wertungen von über 90 Prozent dafür erhält. Laut seiner Ansicht erschafft Insomniac Games immer wieder Titel mit qualitativ hochwertigen Ergebnissen.

"Insomniac erreichen regelmäßig die Metacritic-Messlatte von 90. Ich denke, das neue Spiel wird diese Grenze noch überschreiten. Es handelt sich dabei um eine wirklich kreative Idee, welche sie bisher fantastisch umgesetzt haben," so David DeMartini.

Leider bestätigte David DeMartini auch, dass sich das Projekt noch recht weit von seiner Fertigstellung befindet. Dennoch will man offenbar in nächster Zeit erste Konzeptbilder veröffentlichen. Da die Technologie des Studios jedoch sehr ausgereift ist, kann Insomniac Games schon recht früh größere Fortschritte machen.

David DeMartini dazu:

"Von jetzt an bis zur Ziellinie wird noch eine Menge Zeit vergehen. Wenn ich mir ihre Firmengeschichte aber mal so ansehe, bin ich mir sehr sicher, dass sie dort auch ankommen werden. Ich denke auch, dass wir eher früher als später ein paar frühe Konzeptmaterialien zum Spiel veröffentlichen werden, weil Insomniac bereits so große Fortschritte mit ihrer Arbeit gemacht haben. Sie befinden sich gerade in einer großartigen Lage."

Naja auf der offiziellen Seite steht ja das es auch für Xbox erscheint .

Das sieht mir nach nen Koop aus aber die Waffen sind richtig toll .

Na klar isses Multiplatform, daher ja auch EA als Publisher, aber Call of Duty ist auch Multi und war bei der X-Box drin. Insomniac ist irgendwie traditionell auf SONYs PKs und ich würd mich nicht wundern, wenn das dieses Jahr auch so ist.

Quick shots – Insomniac’s Overstrike gets first shots

EA’s released the first shots and boxart for Overstrike, the brand-new multiplatform IP from Insomniac Games and EA Partners that was announced during the publisher’s E3 press conference last night. The shots seem to be caps from the trailer, but beggars can’t be choosers. Go nuts after the break.
Overstrike has no date, but will release on PS3 and 360.

Der Titel setzt auf Koop-Action, bei der Spieler gemeinsam die Truppe der Eliteeinheit Overstrike 9 steuern.

Overstrike for the PS3 and Xbox 360 follows a team called 'Overstrike 9' that is tasked with stopping a shadowy organization in a sci-fi based team shooter that combines Insomniac's wit and creative weapons.

Dieses Team besteht aus vier Agenten, die sich durch unterschiedliche Fähigkeiten auszeichnen. Zur Wahl stehen ein ehemaliger Söldner, eine Diebin, ein Wissenschaftler und ein Kommissar. Ziel ist es, mithilfe neuer Waffentechnologie eine globale Terrorgruppe aufzuhalten.

Comprised of an ex-mercenary, a lifelong thief, a gifted young scientist and a decorated detective, the members of Overstrike 9 are considered outcasts within their own organization, but are the best team suited to stop a global terrorist group from attempting to wipe out humankind. Overstrike 9 uses lethal teamwork and an arsenal of fringe-tech gadgets to infiltrate and destroy enemy strongholds.

CEO Ted Price meint, dass das Spiel eine sehr gelungene und gute Mischung aus dem häuslichen Humor Insomniacs ist. Es vereint die besten Eigenschaften die das Studio bei den letzten Spielen angewandt hat und macht es somit zu etwas ganz Besonderes.

Sieht ja schonmal net schlecht aus... und für einmal befürchte ich keine Nachteile für die PS3 Version gegenüber der 360 version, weil ja Insomniac mehr als genug Erfahrung mit der PS3 hat

Insomniac: Overstrike is a four-player co-op game with “cool weapons and gadgets”

Insomniac’s Ted Price has described Overstrike as first-person, four-player co-op game where you will be using “cool weapons and gadgets.”


Speaking in an interview with Eurogamer following the game’s announcement at EA’s E3 press conference, Price admitted that the team likes to inject a bit of humor into its games, which is why the trailer shown for the game doesn’t seem to be all that serious.
“We at Insomniac have always loved injecting humor into our games,” said Price. “Resistance is not a humorous game at all. However, our other franchises have been enthused with humor. This takes the humor in a more sophisticated direction. It’s not in-your-face humor. It’s a more subtle humor. Our intention is to reach out to an audience that’s a little bit older than what some of our fans are used to.
“Resistance is clearly a very mature title. This one may have a very broad appeal in that it introduces heavy action components and some pretty hard-hitting weapons and gadgets. But at the same time it doesn’t take itself too seriously.”
Price goes on to explain how the name of the EA Partners title, Overstike, is a “triple entendre,” as the organization in the game is called Overstrike., while the team itself is called Overstrike 9.
“This is a team of misfits,” he said. “They’re definitely non-conformists. The challenge they have, and challenge the agency has, is they don’t take the traditional approach to running missions. They leave a lot of collateral damage in their wake. Thus, Overstrike 9 is only called in when there are no other choices. The Overstrike agency has to live with the consequences.
“We’ve got a reformed mercenary. We’ve got a thief, who is interested in causing havoc. We’ve got a young, brilliant scientist who has some issues of her own. And of course we’ve got an ex-detective. Dalton in the trailer says he’s like a Buddhist monk, but the opposite is actually true. He’s got a real temper issue.
“Throughout the game, these personalities become bigger than life and they help create a more unique play experience for each of the people who pick up the controller and choose to play as one of those characters.”
Price wouldn’t talk about the gadgets in the game, nor what the main threat Overstrike 9 will be battling in the game either.
More on the game will be revealed at a later date, but Price wouldn’t go into when that would be and he wouldn’t say whether the game was on the slate for 2012 or not.

Scheint wohl so, als ob es Insomniac nicht nur auf die Microsoft Kundschaft abgesehen hat.
Laut CEO Ted Price möchte man bei Insomniac, statt auf Exklusivität, jetzt ein "breiteres Publikum" ansprechen und deswegen wurde wohl auch an das Studio das Wii U Development Kit geliefert um den 4-Spieler-Coop-Knaller auch auf dieser Plattform zu bringen. Also werden jetzt alle 3 Konsolen bedient.

Selbst mit der These, dass es auch mit der HALO und Uncharted Franchise, für die jeweiligen Konsolen versteht sich, irgendwann zu Ende geht
... und mit ihr die Exklusivität.

Und auch das neue Timesplitter 4 sowie 200 weitere Titel, welche wohl dieses Jahr bei der E3 vorgestellt werden sollen, sollen einen Wii U Ableger bekommen. (Vorsicht Gerücht! und angebliche Insiderinfos)

And the last interesting tidbit of news that I am hearing involves Crytek, who is a partner with Electronic Arts. Crytek might be giving Electronic Arts the publishing duties for TimeSplitters 4 for the Wii U. Coincidentally, before Free Radical became part of Crytek, Electronic Arts published Timesplitters: Future Perfect. TimeSplitters 4 will be announced at E3 this year for the Wii U and other consoles.
