As you have most likely surmised by now, the upcoming "special announcement" announced by Nomura was an April Fool's Joke. The joke was a partnership between KHInsider and HeartStation. We realize this probably disappointed you, and we know that through a certain member's vigilance, the joke was spoiled for many of you.

We do want you to realize though, that the April Fool's Joke was never going to be just the announcement of an announcement. We are fully aware of how lame of a joke that would be. No, we were going to do something much bigger. We had actually planned to reveal what the special announcement was, but due to ramifications in our personal lives, we were unable to complete it in time. We apologize.

But I want to share the process, and amount of thought put into the full, real April Fool's Joke. We hope that you can, at the very least, appreciate the amount of thought, and time, we put in and I'd like to show you what we did manage to get finished in time.

I'm sure you can tell by the image at the top of this article, but the "Special Announcement" was going to be the revelation of Kingdom Hearts III. We were going to make a fake logo, "official" character art, screenshots, and a Nomura interview regarding it. Essentially, we were going to make a complete and fully detailed, realistic magazine scan.

But for us to want it to seem believable, we knew that we couldn't simply make the announcement + scan appear out of nowhere on March 31st-April 1st. This was why we added in the additional interview question to the last Nomura interview that was released, so that we could set-up for the joke a good week ahead and therefore make it more believable.

We were then going to release the fake scan on a Japanese Blog called Junon. We then planned on e-mailing major sites such as FF7ACReunion, KHU, KH-Vids, etc. about the scan, in hopes that they would post about it before we did. The next day, HeartStation would release the translations for the Nomura Interview. On April Fools, we planned to then reveal the truth.

We believe this could have been a well executed, and high-quality April Fool's joke, but, life is unexpected, and our personal lives took over. We apologize that we couldn't finish the April Fool's joke for you, and hope that you will enjoy the content that we did have finished for it below.

Fake Interview Question -Thank you so much for your time. Is there anything else to add?
Nomura: I’m very excited in the direction these titles are moving in. Next week, we plan on making a special announcement regarding the Kingdom Hearts series - please look forward to it.

ake Interview Regarding KH3 (Unfinished) -The announcement of Kingdom Hearts III came as a surprise...
Nomura: [smiles] Yes. I wanted to hold off until the three Kingdom Hearts games were closer to release before we made the announcement. With 358/2 Days releasing May 30th, and Coded to begin releasing new episodic content over the Mobile Portal Site, I thought of this as a good time.

-What can you tell us about the new title? Will Sora be returning as the main character?
Nomura: I can't reveal too much, since it's heavily connected with the three Kingdom Hearts games, but I can tell you that it takes place where Coded will leave off and Sora is the main character.

-The official artwork for KHIII - it appears the three heroes from Birth By Sleep are present!?
Nomura: While I can't go into detail just yet, I will say that they are deeply involved. Kingdom Hearts III continues on Birth By Sleep's theme of "inevitable fate" and the connection of hearts - it is something to look forward to.

-Earlier you spoke of ways that the three Kingdom Hearts titles could tie-in with Kingdom Hearts III. Have these connections been realized?
Nomura: They have, in a number of ways actually. Realizing how the three games are intertwined with Kingdom Hearts III is part of the charm of the game and I believe fans will enjoy that aspect quite a lot [smiles].

-Is it required to play the three hand-held Kingdom Hearts games in order to understand the plot of Kingdom Hearts III?
Nomura: Hmm. I have said that Coded is much like CoM in the sense that it bridges two games. But, as it was with CoM, playing the three games are not required in order to understand Kingdom Hearts III. I believe one could enjoy Kingdom Hearts III even if it was their first experience with the series, but for those fans who play the three games - they will get something more out of Kingdom Hearts III.

-Can we discuss the new logo for a minute? It seems to have taken a much darker look this time?!
Nomura: [laughs] With the three Kingdom Hearts games, we were steering the series into a darker, more serious tone. The logo is meant to reflect that new feeling and direction that we plan on continuing with Kingdom Hearts III.

Recently, there have been a lot of new Kingdom Hearts related products coming out. In this product update, we will be talking about the Kingdom Hearts Piano Collections, new KH Mobile accessories, a Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days DSi case, and the new Utada Hikaru album.


A new album featuring music from Kingdom Hearts entitled "Piano Collections: Kingdom Hearts" will be released on May 27th this year. Following the announcement of its release, the Japanese Square-Enix Music Site has updated with a portal site for the album which can be seen here

Square-Enix has recently released a series of cellphone straps based on the avatars of Kingdom Hearts: Mobile. The cellphone straps come in five different characters: Sora, Riku, Kairi, Roxas and Cloud. Each one comes at a price of 1,050 Yen (around $11). Various sites are selling them, but the site selling them in USD closest to their amount in yen is Cdjapan.co.jp. You can see each of the straps below in better detail.

A new Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days DSi Cover has now been listed on Play-Asia. You can see the full version of the cover by clicking on the image on the side. The cover is a plastic casing that fits only onto the DSi, and features Axel, Roxas and Xion along with the checker-pattern featured on the special edition DSi. Play-Asia is currently listing the cover at $14.90 USD.

Utada's new English album This Is The One has now been released digitally. In an interview with radio station "107.9 The End", Utada spoke about her Kingdom Hearts work saying that, since she doesn't like role-playing games, she has never played Kingdom Hearts

Also, during an interview on the CBS Early Show, she mentioned that her label was trying to get permission from Disney to release Simple and Clean and Sanctuary as bonus tracks for her album's physical release on May 12th. If they do get permission, this will mark the first time that Sanctuary will have been officially released.

The Nintendo DS title Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days is set to release May 30th. The special edition Nintendo DSi with the unique design will also be released then. It has a chic design where icons symbolizing the game are arranged in the shape of a monogram on the DSi's top.The finished design is both appealing and adult-like, it doesn't really look like a game console at all.

Tetsuya Nomura's Comment

――Did you do the main design?

Nomura: Yes. I was often being asked, "Will you design it for girls?", but inevitably I designed it myself. The special characteristics of Kingdom Hearts titles were top priority, though of course staying conscious of the female fans, details like the main DSi body were made chic so that boys and adults wouldn't feel out of place with it. I think since the rare monogram designs of the game are seen as fashionable, not only girls but guys will also want it.

GoNintendo posted the official Japanese boxart for Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days. The box art looks really nice and probably will be in the international releases.

Also Kotaku reported that Square Enix has revealed its worldwide sales figures for three of it's most popular franchises. Those franchises include Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and Dragon Quest. Final Fantasy has raked up a whopping 85 million units. Dragon Quest has earned the company 47 million units. And our beloved franchise Kingdom Hearts has earned Square Enix a nice 12 million units.

And in other news, famitsu monthly magazine has published four scans on Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days. The scans feature Vexon, Zexion, and Marluxia in battle. It also includes a scene with Axel and Roxas talking to Hayner, Pence, and Olette.

Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days Website Updates Again

The Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days Website has updated once again. This update contains another video in the System section. In this video we get to see Axel gameplay, Roxas' limit break, and more muliplayer clips.

Axel appears to be able to do different combo attacks depending on the Chakrams he has equipped. Some of the combos are completed by using the "Y" button.

There are also many forms of multiplayer. In the beginning the video shows that you can attack your own party members to steal something, possibly points. The second part of the video shows a more common form of multiplayer. The third part shows something different. At the end, Roxas is shown with a question mark over him, and a keyblade blacked out. The text is in Japanese so I can't tell what it says, but it possibly says 100 or something to obtain.

The Limit video shows that when the player reaches a low point in their health, they can activate their limit. The yellow section of the health bar is an indicator for when they can begin the Limit. When the Limit is activated, a white bar will then quickly begin from the point where the yellow bar starts and goes to the start of your health bar. Roxas is the only one shown in this video and his Limits gain more strength the more his health drops. He also gains the ability to execute an Omnislash type of attack once or twice.

New Days Trailer and First Part of Interview with Nomura and Hasegawa from Nintendo Dream Translated

Hey, everyone! Heartstation just updated with the new trailer for Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days. Heartstation has also put up the translations for the first half of the interview featured in Nintendo Dream, with Nomura and Hasegawa.

Also the Square-Enix Product Blog has updated with the new release of the Kingdom Hearts Halloween Sora and the Kingdom Hearts Mobile Charm. The two items release next month and can be purchased at sites such as Play-Asia.

PROLOGUE--------------Roxas and the Player’s Viewpoint
The reason for producing a new installment of the series on the DS

―― First of all, why make a new title for Nomura’s masterpiece Kingdom Hearts series on DS?

Nomura: The invitation to do so had been received from Nintendo for a while. From making Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories on Game Boy Advance to It’s a Wonderful World*, working with Nintendo had been successful, so we opted to make a Kingdom Hearts title on the DS. However, having seen the advances being made on the preceding title It’s a Wonderful World, we considered what we would do with Kingdom Hearts on the DS.

――Sora is the main character of Kingdom Hearts, why is it Roxas is the hero in the DS game?

Nomura: To start with, since it was for the DS, we wanted to make a game that could be played multiplayer. With the desire to have two or more playable characters in mind, we considered the interesting individuals of Organization XIII. However the part involving the time axis worried me. Since in Kingdom Hearts II we followed the final footprints of Roxas, the story begins from his birth into the world. I think those playing the series for the first time will see the viewpoint of Roxas and will want to catch up on the story until now. If the hero is a common character to the series, it’s considerably difficult to present them abruptly without the player knowing the other works they appear in to some extent.

―― From what we can tell, Roxas’s main point is concluded in the early stages of Kingdom Hearts II. Will the story for 358/2 Days still be enjoyable for fans of the series?

Nomura: In Crisis Core –FFVII- for the PSP, the ending of the story was known from the beginning; however it did not particularly hinder the story. So even if the ending is understood for Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, I think that it can be developed interestingly.

Also...Ich bin ganz ehrlich, mir war es ein bisschen zu anstrengend alle Seiten zu lesen...
Aber ich bin schon ein kleiner Fan von Kingdom Hearts. Habe aus Zufall letztes Jahr den ersten Teil geschenkt bekommen und war wirklich begeistert und danach hab ich mir natürlich sofort den zweiten gekauft, der auch wirklich gut war.
Ich habe nun in 2 Foren angefangen zu lesen und irgendwie steige ich nicht so richtig durch, vielleicht kapiere ich es auch einfach nich, weil ich mich nicht so intensiv damit beschäftige.

Eig. wollte ich nur wissen, ob das Spiel jetzt für die Ps2 rauskommt und ob überhaupt ein dritter Teil in der Fortsetzung mit Sora, Goofy usw erscheint?
Ich habe bei Youtube das "birth by sleep" Video gesehen und irgendwas mit Krieg der Schlüsselschwerter usw. Das ist alles so verwirrend, soll das dann irgendwie der dritte Teil sein?
Also wenn sich einer die Mühe machen würde mir das zu erklären, würde ich mich freuen.

Birth by sleep wird ein teil für die PSP , es spielt 10 jahre vor dem ersten teil.

Und von einem richtigen dritten teil gibts keine infos , denke aber das er für PS3 kommen wird.

Puh....Ich habe mir den Trailer angesehen und muss schon sagen das SPiel auf der NDs Ist einfach Fantastisch gar Göttlich gemacht solche eine Grafik Vollendung hab ich noch nie gesehen das man so bei diesem Handhelden in die Tiefe der Grafik gehen kann...Ich war Faszieniert, dafür lohnt es sich sogar einen Nintendo DS zu Kaufen.
Hah ich hätte niemals so etwas in solch einer Grösse erwartet man merkt ja weviel Herz und Arbeit da drinen stekt, das Game hat sehr viel Potential.
Ich sehe bis jetzt überhaupt keine Fehler die man bei so einermachen könnte...

Das spiel wirkt immer interessanter.
Die Grafik ist das beste was ein NDS bieten kann^^
Ich denke mir das das eins der besten NDS spiele wird.
Denke das es von den Gaming Zeitschriften 90-100% bekommt^^

10 jahre vorm ersten teil.Und das is nich kh3 , glaub der überschrift nicht . Das is birth by sleep für psp.

Und das mit den cd´s is schwachsinn^^ Weil schon eine ps2 dvd soviel platz bietet wie 4 ps1 cds. Die kh spiele sind auch genauso lang wie ff9 z.B das kommt dir halt nur nich so vor.

Ja ein Film wäre das Coolste überhaubt aba wen Filme zu KDH Rauskommen dan wäre das Geilste wen ein Film zu jedem KDH teil rauskommen Würde. Ja ein Film wäre das Coolste überhaubt aba wen Filme zu KDH Rauskommen dan wäre das Geilste wen ein Film zu jedem KDH teil rauskommen Würde. Man weiß noch fast garnix über sie . Sie soll aber eine verbindung zu kairi haben . Meine theorie war das da ja namine anders geboren wurde als andere niemande , sie nicht komplett is und das xion ihre andere hälfte ist und sie zusammen jemand anders bilden und dieser ist dann kairis richtiger niemand.

dann wäre es bei roxas ja eig genau so is es aber nicht oda???

Roxas wurde ja ganz normal geboren , weil sora sein herz verlor und ein herzloser wurde.
Nur bei namine gabs ja kein herzlosen , da ihr herz in sora war.

Ich glaube nicht das die organisation einen herzlosen aufnehmen würde. Und ausserdem hab ich noch keinen menschlich aussehenden herzlosen gesehn ausser xehanort , nichtmal sora war ja einer , er war nur ein schattenlurch.
Und ich glaube gelesen zu haben das xion ein niemand ist Wie gesagt GLAUBE.
