'Lost' Star Josh Holloway in Talks to Play Gambit in X-Men 4

Josh Holloway, star of hit TV series Lost, is in negotiations with 20th Century Fox to play Cajun fan favorite character Gambit in the fourth X-Men installment. This confirms the mild speculation over whether another sequel to the fourth-highest-grossing movie in 2006 (approx. $234 million US) would be made.

A few actors, most notably Halle Berry, have expressed reservations about donning the X-spandex for yet another intense, green-screen-heavy, CGI freak-fest. But with the success of the Spider-Man movies - currently Hollywood's No. 1 cash cow with an iron-clad contract guaranteeing at least three more Spidey sequels - it's no surprise the X-Men franchise is still being expanded.

Josh Holloway expressed nothing but excitement at the prospect of bringing the kinetic Casanova to the silver screen, exclaiming, "I would love to play a superhero. I'd love to wear a cape and tights! We had a meeting and they wanted me to play Gambit, the card dealer character, they thought I'd be perfect for the part. We'll see."

Good news? X-Men 4 is a go. Bad news? Rumors of Johnny Depp playing Gambit were wildly exaggerated. Pirates of the Caribbean's Jack Sparrow vs. X-Men's Gambit? How insane would that be? Too insane to imagine? Probably.

Ist nicht mehr ganz aktuell. Josh war lange im Gespräch für die Rolle als Gambit. Jetz ist aber Taylor Kitsch. Könnte durchaus passen: Taylor Kitsch
Die Darsteller wurden bei den X-Men Filmen eigentlich durch die Bank gut gewählt, finde ich.

Neben dem Wolverine Film ist auch noch was mit Magneto geplant. Aber lange nix mehr von dem Projekt gelesen.

@Xander2000: Sicher kann ich natürlich auch nichts sagen, es gibt allerdings bereits sehr viele Gerüchte. Sicher ist allerdings, dass 2009 ein Wolverine Film kommt. (....)

Naja ich lass mich einfach mal überraschen. Ist eh besser, so kann man schlecht ungeduldig werden^^...

Hauptsach es wird genial. Leider wird das ja immer schwieriger heutzutage...
Ich fand ja X-Men III neulich ziemlich gut. Ist ja auch gut. Aber ich wette, wenn ich die beiden ersten mal wieder vorher schaue, wird mir der dritte wieder zu commerziell vorkommen.
