Was ihr tun müsst:

1. Select [Sign In] under PlayStation®Network on the XMB (XrossMediaBar) Menu.

2. Enter your sign-in ID (email address) and password, and then select [Sign In].



Enter the current sign-in ID (email address) and password for your PlayStation Network account, and ensure that you can receive messages at this email address.

3. Select [OK] from the screen that prompts you to change your password.



A screen for entering a new password is displayed.

4. Follow the on-screen instructions to change your password.

After you have changed your password, you will be able to sign in to PlayStation Network.

If the screen for entering a new password is not displayed after step 3, your PlayStation 3 system has never been activated on PlayStation Network using your account. In this case, an email message will be sent to your registered email address. Follow the instructions in the email message to access a website and change your password.

If you have forgotten your password

If you have forgotten your password, you will need to change it from the PlayStation Network website. Follow the instructions shown below.

1. Select [Sign In] under PlayStation®Network on the XMB Menu.

2. Select [Forgot your password?] on the sign-in screen.



3. Enter your sign-in ID (email address) and your date of birth, and then select [Continue].



Ensure that you can receive messages at this email address.

4. Check that your email address is correct, and then select [Confirm].



An email message will be sent to your registered email address. Follow the instructions in the email message to change your password. When you have changed your password, you will be able to sign in to PlayStation Network.

If the PlayStation Network account you are using is a sub account, it may be necessary to first sign in using the master account to change the password.

Einige, die ihre PS3 auf Reperatur haben oder aus anderen Gründen nicht direkt darauf zugreifen können, warten vielleicht noch auf ihre Email zur Passwortänderung.
Sony hat dazu etwas getwittert, danke an jimcarry für den Hinweis:

Wie Sony vorhin getwittert hat, soll der massive Traffic auf die E-Mail-Server der unterschiedlichen Anbieter zur Folge gehabt haben,
dass die Anbieter den Traffic von Sonys Adresse nun drosseln.
Sony will die Anbieter kontaktieren - es kann also zu Verzögerungen beim E-Mail-Versand kommen.

PlayStation US und PlayStation EU haben via Twitter darüber informiert, dass die E-Mails von Sony mit den Links,
um das Passwort zurückzusetzen oder die Bestätigungs-Mails auf sich warten lassen, weil die E-Mail-Anbieter den Verkehr drosseln.
Sony muss derzeit sehr viele E-Mails von den immergleichen Adressen an Millionen von Kunden verschicken.
Bei den E-Mail-Anbieter wie GMX, Web.de, AOL.com und Co. kommt das nicht gut an.
Der erhöhte Traffic wird von den Servern eher negativ eingestuft und die Geschwindigkeit, mit der E-Mails von Sonys Adressen verschickt werden also künstlich gedrosselt.
Zitat aus dem offiziellen PlayStation-EU-Blog (engl.):
"With the huge number of people coming back online at the same time and resetting their passwords, it is creating significant email traffic to ISPs.
The consequence is that some of the ISPs are throttling the emails."

Sony ist aber dabei, die E-Mail-Anbieter zu kontaktieren ("We are currently contacting them to resolve this, but in the meantime please be patient. ").
Schätzungsweise ist dies in Amerika möglich, aber in Europa angesichts der Tageszeit eher nicht.
PSN-Nutzer, die noch keine E-Mail erhalten haben, und darauf warten, sollen sich noch etwas gedulden schreibt Sony.

Das PlayStation Network war in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz heute gegen 21 Uhr wieder ans Netz gegangen.
Bedingt durch den großen Ansturm hielten die Server aber dem Verkehr nicht lange Stand.
Es folgter eine erneute Downtime von knapp 2 Stunden.
Danach war das PSN für weitere 20 Minuten wieder online, ehe es abermals den Eintritt verwehrte.
Erst gestern in der Früh war die neue Firmware 3.61 veröffentlicht worden, die zwingend notwendig ist, wenn man mit der PS3 wieder online kommen möchte.
Auch ist ein Ändern des Passworts Pflicht. Das funktioniert allerdings nur, wenn das PSN denn online ist.

Nachdem das PlayStation Network nun wieder betriebsbereit ist, könnt ihr endlich weiter online Games spielen.
Dies ist natürlich bloß ein Teil des Angebots, das über das Netzwerk verfügbar ist,
und ihr fragt euch sicher, ob sich der Ausfall des PSN auf geplante Veröffentlichungen und Online-Events auswirkt.

F: Was genau funktioniert jetzt wieder?

A: Anmeldung beim PlayStation Network und bei Qriocity (einschließlich Rücksetzung von Passwörtern),

F: Welche Auswirkungen hat der PSN-Ausfall auf PlayStation Plus-Mitglieder? Am 26. April hätten eigentlich einige Spiele/Objekte veröffentlicht werden sollen.

A: Was den PlayStation Plus-Kalender anbelangt, machen wir dort weiter,
wo wir aufgehört haben, damit dir nichts entgeht.


F: Sucker Punch hat angedeutet, dass der Zugang zur inFamous 2-Betaversion verlängert wird. Gibt es genauere Informationen dazu?

A: Sucker Punch erwägt derzeit die Verlängerung des Zugriffs auf die “inFamous 2-Betaversion sowie eine Ausweitung ihres Umfangs.
In den nächsten Tagen wird mehr darüber verraten.


F: Gibt es besondere Pläne für die SOCOM: Special Forces Multiplayer-Community?

A: Zipper wird demnächst verkünden, welche Aktivitäten für SOCOM: Special Forces geplant sind
und wie die Spieler, die geduldig gewartet haben, belohnt werden können.


F: Wie kann ich das von Kazuo Hirai erwähnte “Welcome Back (Willkommen zurück)”-Angebot einlösen?

Ausfall: Das winkt als Entschädigung


Der PlayStation Store harrt noch seiner Wiederherstellung, allerdings hat Sony auf dem englischen SCEE-Blog schon mal dargelegt, welche Downloads man den Nutzern zusätzlich zum PSN-Kostenlos-Monat als Entschädigung für den knapp dreieinhalb Wochen langen Ausfall des PSN zur Verfügung stellen wird.

So werden PS3-Nutzer sich zwei der folgenden fünf Spiele herunterladen können:

• LittleBigPlanet
• Infamous* (in Deutschland: Super Stardust HD)
• Wipeout HD/Fury
• Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty
• Dead Nation (in Deutschland: Hustle Kings)

Wer eine PSP sein Eigen nennt, kann sich zwei der folgenden fünf Titel gönnen:

• LittleBigPlanet
• ModNation Racers
• Pursuit Force (in Deutschland: Everybody's Golf 2)
• Killzone: Liberation (in Deutschland: Buzz Junior Jungle Party)

Darüber hinaus gibt es:

- 30 days free PlayStation Plus membership for non PS Plus subscribers*

- Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers will be given 60 days free subscription.

Update zum Ausfall des PSN - einige Dienste stehen wieder zur Verfügung?

Lieber PlayStation Network-Benutzer,

wie du vielleicht gehört hast, wurde das PlayStation®Network nach einem Cyber-Angriff auf unsere Server am 20. April 2011 weltweit vom Netz genommen.

Es freut uns, dass wir mittlerweile damit beginnen konnten, einige der PlayStation Network-Services wieder aufzunehmen. In den nächsten Tagen werden weitere Services wieder zur Verfügung stehen. Du solltest dich also stets über eu.playstation.com/psnlatest und im PlayStation.Blog unter blog.de.playstation.com auf dem Laufenden halten.

Vor dem erneuten Verwenden des PlayStation Network ...

Im Zuge der Wiederherstellung der PSN-Services haben wir eine neue Sicherheitsmaßnahme eingeführt. Bevor du das PSN wieder nutzen kannst, musst du daher das Passwort für dein PlayStation Network-Konto ändern.

Wenn du ein PlayStation®3-System besitzt, kannst du auch einfach ein Update auf die System-Software-Version 3.61 durchführen und dich dann über das XMB™ (XrossMediaBar)-Menü beim PlayStation Network anmelden. Weitere Informationen findest du unter eu.playstation.com/ps3psn.

Alternativ dazu kannst du dein Passwort auch ändern, indem du auf deinem PC zu store.playstation.com/login.gvm gehst. Dies sollte nur wenige Minuten in Anspruch nehmen. Eine detaillierte Anleitung findest du unter eu.playstation.com/psppsn.

Not so fast: Sony’s PlayStation Network hacked again [Updated]

Less than 2 days after Sony started bringing its PlayStation Network back online reports are coming in that the besieged gaming giant’s platform has been hacked yet again.
MCV is reporting that the exploit allows for hackers to change users passwords using only a PSN account email and date of birth, two pieces of user information that were obtained in the original hack.
Update below.

MCV says that the hack, which is really an exploit of Sony’s password reset system, was first reported by Nyleveia.com and then corroborated by Eurogamer.
Now the PSN login option is unavailable on a number of Sony’s sites.
Sony’s login site that is used to reset passwords using the email and date of birth is now down.

According to Nyleveia the exploit was demonstrated to it personally by someone who knew the method.

“It has been proven to me through direct demonstration on a test account, so I am without any shadow of a doubt that this is real. We have provided SCEE with a detailed description of the security hole,” said the Nyleveia poster, “While it’s unclear at this time if they will actually patch the flaw while they have the system taken down, I can also confirm that the system went down approximately 15 minutes after I received a response from SCEE on the matter.”

Note that if you changed your email when you regained access to the PlayStation Network you are most likely safe from this exploit. If you left your account email the same however, you may have been vulnerable. Sony has already been contacted about the breach and are aware of this new exploit.

Sony has commented on it’s takedown of the login site, stating:

“Unfortunately this also means that those who are still trying to change their password via Playstation.com or Qriocity.com will be unable to do so for the time being.”

“This is due to essential maintenance and at present it is unclear how long this will take,” Sony said, “In the meantime you will still be able to sign into PSN via your PlayStation 3 and PSP devices to connect to game services and view Trophy/Friends information.”

The PlayStation Network was originally hacked on April 18th but the news was not released for several days as Sony assessed the nature of what information was stolen. It turned out that millions of user accounts including names, birth dates and encrypted passwords were stolen by the hackers. In addition a database of credit card numbers were stolen but Sony has reported that those were also protected by industry standard encryption.

Sony has announced that it will be providing identity theft insurance for all users as well as a ‘welcome back’ package for PSN users that includes several free games and a month of free PlayStation Plus service. The hack was originally attributed to the hacking group Anonymous by Sony but the group refuted those claims saying that they had no interest in credit card theft.

The investigation into who performed the original hack is ongoing. It seems likely that this newest hack is either the same group or someone that was supplied with the birthdate and email information of users by the original hackers. This whole debacle is a terrible blow for Sony’s PlayStation brand but it also highlights the fact that our networks are not as secure as we think they are.

Update: Nyleveia has updated their posting, adding the following Q&A for those concerned about their account safety.

Q. If I already reset my password am I safe?
A. The exploit was possible on any account the email and date of birth was known for, regardless of if the password was changed or not, or what region the account was tied to.

Q. What if they don’t know my Date of Birth or Email account?
A. Then the average user would not be able to take your account, however due to the database being illegally accessed in April, it’s safe to assume that someone, somewhere, has access to a large number of users details, which include date of birth and email addresses, this alone should be reason enough to change your email.

Q. Are you sure this is real?
A. Yes, it was demonstrated to one of our empty accounts, then we were able to repeat the process ourselves after figuring out the method, this was additionally confirmed when a twitter user provided us with his data and requested that we change his password as proof.
We have since emailed him his new password, and no other data on his account was changed.

Q. Can Sony fix it?
A. Shortly after containing SCEE, the online forms connected to login and password recovery for the PlayStation and other linked networks was shut down and placed in a maintenance mode, I can only assume this is a direct response to our detailed reports to SCEE, with that said, I assume that when services resume the exploit will be patched and everyone’s data once again safe.

Q. If Sony fixes the hole should I worry?
A. I would suggest that everyone, regardless of if they have been affected or not, create a new password and change their account email to one they do not use anywhere else, and will not be sharing with anyone else just for additional security.

Q. Will you give us more details on the exploit?
A. Until we have confirmed that the security hole has been patched we will not release further details on how and why the exploit was possible.

Update zum PSN Passwort-Reset Prozess


Wir haben vorrübergehend die PSN- und Qriocity Passwort-Reset Webseiten offline genommen.
Entgegen anders lautender Berichterstattung gab es aber keinen Hack.
Im Zuge der Passwort-Zurücksetzung gab es einen URL-Exploit den wir aber inzwischen repariert haben.


Kunden, die bisher noch nicht ihre Passwörter zurückgesetzt haben, können dies nach wie vor direkt über ihre PS3 erledigen.
Anderenfalls kann, sobald sie wieder online ist, die Webseite für die Rücksetzung benutzt werden.

Wie die Kollegen von Gamasutra in Erfahrung gebracht haben, plant Sony den Playstation-Store ab dem 24.5.2011 "Teilweise" wieder in Betrieb zu nehmen.
Die Aussagen stützen sich auf interne Memos die Sony an Publishing Partner versendet.
Um die gewaltige Menge an Daten zu veröffentlichen, soll es bis zum 3.6.2011 pro Woche zwei Store Updates geben um den kompletten, sowie neue Inhalte wiederherzustellen.

Store Update am 24.5.

Store Update am 31.5. und 3.6.

• Inhalt der letzten 3 Wochen

Vollständige PSN-Wiederherstellung (inkl. PS Store) zum Ende dieser Woche!

Tokyo, May 31, 2011 – Sony Corporation and Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) announced today that Sony Network Entertainment International (SNEI, the company) will fully restore all PlayStation®Network services in the Americas, Europe/PAL territories and Asia, excluding Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea by the end of this week. The company will also resume Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity™ for PlayStation®3 (PS3®), PSP® (PlayStation®Portable), VAIO and other PCs. Details for Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea as well as the remaining services on Qriocity will be announced as they become available.

The company implemented considerable security enhancements to the network infrastructure, as well as conducted testing of the payment process and commerce functions. The first phase of PlayStation Network and Qriocity restoration began on May 15 in the Americas and Europe/PAL territories, followed by Japan and Asian countries and regions on May 28, when the company brought partial services back online. With this partial restoration users were able to access to some of the services such as online game play, account management, friend lists and chat functionality were restored. The full restoration of PlayStation Network as well as part of services to become available on Qriocity will include:

• Full functionality on PlayStation®Store
• In-game commerce
• Ability to redeem vouchers and codes
• Full functionality on Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity for PS3, PSP, VAIO and other PCs

Momentan gibt es aber noch Probleme beim Auswählen der Spiele.
So könnt ihr das Problem umgehen:

Q: I no longer have the option to choose my free Welcome Back games. What can I do?
A: If you navigate away from the Welcome Back section of the store without choosing your free games or exit the store completely you may need to follow the below in order to choose and download your free games.

1. On your PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Portable navigate to the PlayStation Network icon on the XMB
2. Log into your PlayStation Network account and choose Account Management > Transaction Management > Services List
3. Choose “PlayStation Network Promotions” from the list of services displayed
4. Select either “PS3 Free Games” or “PSP Free Games” and then choose “Select Content”

SONY ZAHLT 15 MILLIONEN $ AN GEHACKTE PSN USER

An den PSN-Hack aus dem Jahr 2011 können sich sicher alle noch erinnern, damals wurden 77 Millionen PSN-Konten gehackt und persönliche Daten gestohlen.
Um einer Sammelklage zu entgehen, hat Sony einem Vergleich zugestimmt und zahlt 15 Millionen $, die aber in Form von kostenlossen PS3 und PSP Downloads, PS3 Themes oder 3 kostenlosen Monaten PS Plus an die betroffen gehen werden.

Es werden 8 PS3 Spiele angeboten, unter anderem Dead Nation, inFamous, Little Big Planet, Super Stardust HD und Rain.
Zu den 6 PSP Spielen gehören Little Big Planet, ModNation Racers, Patapon 3 und Killzone Liberation.
Die übrigen Titel werden noch bekanntgegeben und werden zum Zeitpunkt des endgültigen Beschlusses, mindestens 6 Monate alt sein.
Sony wird diese Angebote in verschiedenen Stufen verteilen, je nachdem ob man damals 2011, am ‘Willkommen Zurück’ Angebot teilgenommen hat oder nicht.
User die daran teilgenommen haben, dürfen je einen Titel aus den Gruppen wählen, während User die nicht teilgenommen haben, je 2 wählen dürfen.

Die finale Anhörung ist aber erst am 1. Mai 2015, bis dahin kann sich noch einiges ändern.
